Spreadsheet.com expires – currently listed for $15
Just noticed that Spreadsheet.com expired and is being auctioned off on GoDaddy Auctions. Current bid is $15 with the auction ending in 10 days. Thought it might be a mistake, but the parked page shows that the name is with GoDaddy and expired on 8/15/09.
Should be an interesting one to follow since SpreadSheets.com sold last year for $25,000 at the Traffic/Rick Latona auction.
One thing to remember: Since GoDaddy expired auctions work differently than NameJet/Snapnames, the auction winner is not guaranteed the name, since the owner can still renew the name for a week or so after the auction takes place.

Update: In the last half hour (since I tweeted post), there are now 11 bids with a high bid of $505.
I wouldn’t doubt the bids will runaway to a ridiculous amount as it may get renew by the owner anyway if it hits high numbers and/or hit the news. So bidders might just have fun with it lol
Looks like the domain was renewed. Before the auction was closed, over 25 bids were received with a high bid of over $1100.
Hopefully whoever renewed the domain is following this blog. Now they have an idea of what they could sell the domain for.
I have seen namejet reward names back to clients as well – icann has a very low opinion of the pre-release market so we’re always technically at risk in these auctions (but at least we get our money back!).
